I just got my car inspected. New oil, new brakes, new battery, and rotated tires. I feel like I’m rebuilding my car one piece at a time. The repairs were expensive, but like they say, “Peace of Mind is Priceless.” Does anyone say that? The point is …
Nothing is cheap.
Parenthood is a perfect example. They have to spend their hard-earned money on the kids’ braces, their sporting equipment, and summer camp, to name just a few. Every parent knows ya gotta pay to play.
If you think of books as your kids, the way I do, then you know they also require some of your cash. That’s not so easy when you’re a struggling author. But when I saw an opportunity to send my “kids” to Europe, I couldn’t resist.
Okay, I did resist. It would be cheaper to send only one book, but which one? Frama-12 seemed the easy choice since it explains how Winnie and Kip’s otherworldly adventures begin. All the novels are stand-alone, though. Aylen Isle might be the third book in the series, but it got the best reviews.
For a little extra … actually, for a lot extra, I could send all three. And they’d get a primo spot on a shelf close to eye level. If they can charm publishers looking to buy subsidiary rights, maybe in the future we’ll see Frama-Zwölf, Frama-Doce, Frama-Douze, or even Frama-Dodici. How crazy would that be?
They’ll be going to the Frankfort Book Fair (as in Germany) from October 15 to 19, 2025. That’s plenty of time to get the kids, ahem, books ready.
The trip is paid for. Now I have to wait for the email that tells me what I have to put in the kids’ luggage. I’ll keep you posted on what they have to pack.
Like I said, kids are expensive, but ya gotta pay to play. 😊
In the meantime, here is Aylen Isle getting a little love on the site, Literal Literary.

Wow, this is exciting, Aud! International attention to your three book-kids! Woo hoo!
Are they excited? 😁
I don’t know if they are, but I’m beside myself! 🤣
