Book Reveal

A few months ago, or maybe it happened many months ago – who can keep track of time – I watched a mystery author reveal her latest book on a video feed.

Here’s the thing about revealing a book on a video feed: It should only take a few seconds to cut open a box, pull out the packing paper and reveal a book. Half a minute max. The mystery author took half an hour! I can’t remember what she said before she opened the box. All I remember was blurting (to no one because I happened to be alone), “Just open the box! Open the box!” I ended up fast-forwarding through her comments to get to the reason I clicked on the feed in the firsts place!

I didn’t think much of it at the time, but when my Winnie and the “Wizard” Book Two was set to arrive, I thought, Hmm, why don’t I make a production out of it? Except I’ll get right to the point!

Even though my recording lasted only about 30 seconds, it turns out that’s too much for my website to handle. The video in its entirety can be found on the Wild Rose Press FaceBook page.

In case that link above disappears for some reason; here are a few screenshots from the video:

The box!
The “Unsealing”
Oooh! It’s open!
So much packing paper!
Books!!

Wouldn’t it be funny if only two books were inside that box? Or would that be sad? Actually, there were 22 or better known as a “gaggle of books.”

Books and bookmarks

The tagline on the bookmarks reads, “One lefthanded world. Two missing little boys. Three teens must make it right.”

As mentioned before, the official publication date is February 20, 2023. For anyone who would like to support a struggling artist, preorders are available. The eBook is the more reasonably priced, so I chose the links for those, but the paperback is also available. To preorder, you can click here for Amazon. Or here for Barnes and Noble. Thanks!

I have to confess, holding this book for the first time felt awesome. There’s a nice heft to it. Probably because it has more pages than Frama-12.

It’s an interesting progression with respect to the colors for each book. While Frama-12 has a light-hearted summery vibe, I think the blue on Hutra‘s cover makes it seem a bit edgier. It’s got me already thinking about Book Three’s cover. It might have a spooky vibe with fog and darker colors.

Until then … happy reading!!

  1. This is exciting, Aud, and great news! Congratulations. I watched your video twice now. 😊

Now that you mention it, Hutra’s cover is a little edgier than Frama-12’s. And I like that!

I plan on pre-ordering the paperback from Barnes and Noble soon!

    1. Thanks, Gemma! The funny thing is I hadn’t intended for the cover to appear edgier. That was an added bonus. The artists at The Wild Rose Press are pretty awesome! I can’t wait to see what they do to Book III. I also can’t wait to finish writing it! LOL
