Recently, I received an email from my publisher announcing that I can order author copies of book two from my fantasy series, Winnie and the “Wizard.” Soon after, I discovered a totally cool thing on Amazon:
In other words, the digital version of Hutra is now available for pre-order on Amazon!
For anyone who prefers Barnes and Noble, it’s there too.
The cool part is Amazon paired the two books!
When I first saw them side-by-side like this, I wondered if it was okay that their color schemes were so different. Here’s hoping the stripe with the title and the matching fonts make up for it.
Meanwhile …
Maybe it’s just me, but I am fascinated by “behind-the-scenes” info. For anyone who shares that fascination, here’s a bit of trivia relating to my YA fantasy series:
Even though the series is officially called Winnie and the “Wizard,” I think of them as the “Frama books.” Probably because they take place in alternate worlds known as “framas.” In my mind, the different worlds press up against each other. Earth happens to be Frama-11. Why 11?
Um … well, because Frama-12 happens to stand on Earth’s right. The second novel takes place in a world to the left of Earth. That would make it Frama-10. But imagine the confusion if I’d named all the books after their respective framas. Readers might ask, and rightly so, “What happened to Framas 1 through 9?
To allay any confusion, the second novel’s world doesn’t just have a number assigned to it. It also gets a name. A follow-up question might be: Then, shouldn’t Frama-12 also have a world name?
Good question. Sorry that I don’t have a good answer. What happened was when I originally wrote Frama-12, I didn’t know other books would follow. Sadly, that means Frama-12 only gets a number.
More trivia will inevitably follow. But for now, as I work on Frama-III (which does have a world name), I’m beside myself with excitement that Frama-II (a/k/a Hutra) is now available for preorder, with the official publication date of February 20, 2023.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
How cool, Aud! This is very exciting! And I love seeing the books side by side. I think they go well together. (I agree that if the next book were called Frama -10, then people would wonder “Wait — which should I read first? And why can’t I find Frama 1-9 or Frama 11!”)
Now my only question is, where to pre-order it…? Hmm…
What a great way to ring in the New Year!
Hi, Gemma!
Actually, the answer to your question on how to order is embedded in the post. The word “Amazon” in blue lettering is the link to the Amazon site to order and the word “too” in blue (just below the Amazon link) will take you to the book on Barnes and Noble. Hope that helps. 🙂
